A Dam 5 Engagement Session in Clearspring, MD

It was an amazing experience to photograph an engagement session at beautiful Dam 5 in Clear Spring Maryland. Meeting Barry and Laura there was perfect even though it was 6 degrees, and 7 o’clock in the morning! To say we were all cold is an understatement, and I wasn’t sure how we were going to make it through the bitterness of the morning! It was then the sun started to peak over the mountain and I was able to capture the most beautiful light on the river!

I found out quick that Barry and Laura aren’t phased by the cold, or chasing the sun! While I was in my Carhart bibs, and winter coat, these two embraced the cold, and as the sun rose, we moved with it!! The Potomac River water went from fire orange to, ice blue quick, and I am thrilled that I was able to capture all of it!

This was my very first snow session, and I am pleased that I was able to have it be with these two! Their engagement session resulted in gorgeous images, and allowed me to really get to know the two of them. The one thing I noticed about Berry and Laura , they are both incredibly kind, and easy to love. They shared with me that they have beautiful young grandchildren, and a sweet little grand-baby on the way, due to arrive two days before their big wedding day!!

I can’t wait to celebrate these two in just a couple months!! Enjoy their engagement portraits!!
